Prester John

The letter of Prester John has been studied and interpreted by many, attempting to discern whether he was a real or imagined figure. Even after the legend had finished playing out, historians continued to study the letter in an attempt to learn why it was written. One of these historians was writer Sabine Baring-Gould, author of Curious Myths of the Middle Ages. The link to the letter of Prester John within this text follows.
